What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Our church adheres to the Baptist Faith & Message (2000). Below, we have provided a brief, personalized summary of our church's beliefs.

The Holy Bible is God's revelation of Himself to man, and therefore is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals that there is only one living and true God; He is triune, meaning that He is One and yet also Three - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Man is the special creation of God, made male and female in His own image. The gift of gender is part of the goodness of God's creation. Because man freely sinned in Adam, we are all naturally fallen and in need of salvation, which is granted by God by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone; to be saved, an individual person must repent of sin and trust in Christ alone as his or her Savior and Lord. Whoever is truly saved will continue to grow in Christlikeness throughout his or her life by the help of the Holy Spirit, through submission to the Scriptures, under the accountability of the local church. Each local church, though it is autonomous, may cooperate in ministry with other churches. Church members must be regenerate believers who have been baptized by immersion in water, who frequently observe the Lord's supper, and gather to worship every Lord's Day. The church is led through democratic processes by pastors and deacons to spread the gospel to the whole world; each member is to contribute his or her spiritual and material gifts toward this end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to bring all of God's perfectly designed purposes to their perfect fulfillment. Until then, all Christians are to live as salt and light in the world, expanding God's Kingdom by opposing evil and encouraging good, while respecting and defending each individual's religious freedom.
